With a strength above 2500 Vickers, Sintered Tungsten Carbide offers the highest possible protection against abrasive and erosive wear. The impressive strength is because the alloy consists of between 90 and 97% wolfram carbides.
Sintered tungsten carbide is soldered onto the surface or fixed with the Aerotech bonding method. In addition to the superior wear resistance, the material provides good protection against impacts and can withstand temperatures of more than 800 degrees.
Due to the relatively high costs, tungsten is primarily chosen for applications where other materials are unsuitable.
